In the summer months our skin has had to endure the dry air and strong UV rays, with autumn on its way it is the perfect time to renew and recover and emerge restored and refreshed.
In autumn you want to moisturise and bring back your beautiful natural glow. Don’t just rely on moisterising creams, also ensure you are drinking plenty of water. As the weather gets cooler, perhaps try drinking hot tea like green tea that will also boosts your immune system.
Only exfoliate using a gentle scrub to leave skin feeling smooth, after the summer season your skin may have endured some sun damage so don’t overdo it. If you do have sun damaged skin, I suggest a weekly treatment such as with seasonal fruits that can slough off dull, hyper-pigmented, actinic (photo-aged) skin as well as stimulate cellular renewal.
Just because the sun feels less intense in Autumn, make sure you still wear SPF sun block.
Eat food that is rich in Omega-3 essential fatty acids such as fish or avocado and antioxidants such as polyphones, Vitamins A, C and E can help reverse summer damage, prepare it for the challenges it will face during cooler months and boost the skin’s immune system while preserving its quality and restoring its natural glow.
